Judith Anderson - Richmond, Virginia

Anderson is one of several artists featured at the Avery & Powers Gallery in Avalon, NJ.

Avalon is an unusual, historic summer resort town on a small barrier island in southern New Jersey. Avalon is on the north end; Stone Harbor on the south.

When the gallery expressed an interested in carrying her works, Anderson thought it would be interesting to see if she could find any old photographs from the area. She did. Paintings resulting from those finds, as well as others inspired by old photographs that generally reflect a summery, seaside atmosphere, have found a receptive audience in Avalon.
